Sophie grew up in Essex, UK, where she spent several years climbing the ladder in recruitment and investment firms. However, a yearning for adventure led her to exchange her high heels for barefoot walks on the sandy shores of far-flung destinations. Upon arriving in Australia, she fell in love with the country and her now husband, ultimately settling down on 6½ acres of natural beauty in the Gippsland Lakes.

While raising three children, Sophie was driven by a desire to replace harmful products in her bathroom and kitchen, striving to create a cleaner and safer home for her family. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion; she obtained her certification in natural skincare formulation and began selling her creations at local markets. The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, leading her to establish her own lab and begin employing others to help meet the growing demand.

As the founder and certified natural skincare formulator of The Essential Way, Sophie takes a hands-on approach to product creation. She meticulously formulates each product, blending her knowledge of natural ingredients with innovative techniques to craft high-quality skincare and home products that nourish the skin, uplift the spirit, and enhance the living environment.
